Preschool Fall Activity
Hammering pumpkin
This is another great fall activity that will keep your little ones busy while working on concentration, hand-eye coordination, visual perception, fine motor, & large motor skills! This one activity works so much of the body and brain. Because the pumpkin has a thick shell and requires a good amount of force to break through the skin, I would recommend this activity for children 3.5/4 years old and up. Here is what you will need:
Supplies:
Large pumpkin (I hallowed mine out, but that is not required)
Golf Tees
Hammer (We used a real hammer)
An outside table to do this activity on
Directions:
Because this activity requires a real hammer, make sure your child is wearing shoes and sitting down to protect their body from the hammer. Adult supervision is required. Teach them to hold the tee into place with one hand, and with their dominant hand, use the hammer. My daughter really enjoyed this activity and had such concentration while trying to hammer the tees in.
